Well, I told my lovely wife I would contribute to our blog, the following is me living up to my words.
Myself and 7 other guys went on a 3 three day camping\hiking trip this past Memorial day weekend. We had a lot of fun but man was it hot. A few of us took Friday off and headed down there about 9 am. We set up all of the tents and waited on everyone else. While waiting we did some looking around the area, later in the evening we did some fishing in some nearby ponds. I caught a few black (largemouth) bass, a couple of other guys realed in some more bass and a couple of perch.
Later that evening I was making a fire using dried pine needles as a fire starter. I made the fire to big and we couldn't hardly cook our hot dogs over the fire. It was already hot and humid so the large fire made things worse. We had to remove some of the logs on the fire in order to get it small enough to withstand the heat.
We awoke the next moring and had some breakfast tacos. After breakfast we started our ten mile hike through the forest. It was fun and HOT. Upon returing to camp we realized our ice had melted and we needed to make a run to the store. After getting the ice we found a spot in the nearby lake for swimming, we took full advantage of the opportunity. We returned to camp and did some more fishing and caught a few more fish. We left Sunday morning and returned home shortly after lunch. I know this was pretty boring but nothing really happened. We didn't hear any coyotes, we didn't have any "varmit" visits either. Just some guys enjoying the wild outdoors.
You know you live in the country....
